She received an MFA from the University of Miami, was a 2014-16 Wallace Stegner Fellow in Poetry at Stanford University, but spent most of her life as a waitress in East Tennessee.
He is also the co-editor of the anthology It Was Written: Poetry Inspired by Hip-Hop. He holds an MFA from the University of Miami, and he is from the great state of Alabama, where he currently teaches at the University of North AlabamaĮssy Stone is a queer Appalachian poet and author of What Is Done to Us (Lost Horse Press).
